I have a dead battery in a 2001 A6 and I don’t have a clue on where the battery is? Can someone please advise?

Second, I have no owners manual; can someone point me to an online/pdf version or where I could buy one?

battery is located in front of the firewall under a plastic cover. If you look closely (maybe dirty) the plastic cover is like a door that has a positive + and negative - on the plastic.

 

To replace the battery, you pull the rubber gasket that is holding the plastic shield all the way across the car. Then slide the whole shield forward.
