Hi All,

Ive just bought an Audi A6 C5 4.2 (5v) avant quattro tiptonic and have a couple of small teething problems.
The gearchange seems to do a little shuffle just before it changes gear so i thought id do a ATF change....
Is this possible or is it a main dealer only? ive just rung an indi garage who have said they cant do it!
Could the problem be anything else? ive reset the gearbox ecu by leaving the battery off over night.
Any help would be great...

 

I suggest going to the dealer and getting the fluid level checked and tranny software reflashed. This is a low cost start to diagnosing the issue. A shuffle when changing is likely the controller system and not fluid condition.

 

That usually a big No NO, that sounds like a used car dealer trick. ..your Audi should always have power connected to it or bad things can happen.
