Default Noob A6 2.7T front suspension parts/#'s question..

hey guys, I have just bought a 2002 A6 Quattro 2.7T Sport package 6 speed sedan with 17" BBS rims on it. I bought it having hit a 'pothole'. it's wrecked the rim (gone) and damaged the hub/drive shaft/upper arms and rotor.

I've found rim, rotor and drive shaft, but am struggling a bit with the others. I've found this kit on Ebay for the control arms (NEW AUDI A4 A6 S4 VW PASSAT CONTROL ARMS KIT SUSPENSION | eBay) and think it will fit but the upright/hub carrier is giving me a problem. The one on the car has a BOLT IN hub/bearing, but some I've found seem pressed in. I'm not sure if the upright is original, or if it matters if the hub/bearing is bolt in or pressed in. VIN is WAULD64B82N015963. Can i cross refer that with EKTA anywhere?

Thanks guys....

Paul

You want the aluminum upright, not the steel one. It should have the bolt in bearing pack. Try Shokan Used Audi Parts. Be sure to replace that bearing pack while you are at it.
Stay away from the Made in China knock-off control arms. Get Febi or Meyle or Bilstein. ECS Tuning has them as does FCB Groton (one of the big eBay advertisers).

Good luck,

Bob

Default Thanks for the great info guys!

I've contacted Shokan so hopefully they'll be able to help me out. The car was pretty cheap, so hopefully all will be well...

Guys, is there a difference between an upright for an auto transmission versus a manual one? I have found a used upright, but it's from the same car, only with auto gear box.

thanks, Paul

last comment about the auto/manual differences (if any..) if it's just the bearing or bearing diameter for instance... then I am swapping the bearing pack anyway..
