Now owner, have some questions
Hey folks - just picked up a 2001 A6 2.7t tiptronic. It's mainly driven by my wife, but I'm already looking for parts that won't void warranty.
For cosmetics, can anyone tell me if there are places who sell aftermarket trim pieces to get rid of the wood grain trim? I don't care what the finish is, as long as it's not wood. I've searched on this all over but cannot find anything. I'm hoping there are some options out there. As for wheels, I was considering some RS6 replicas. Are they worth buying or should we look for true factory RS6 wheels? If we had the cash, we'd be looking at BBS.
For the other upgrades - I know the chips are said to be undectable by the dealer unless they open up the ECU. How often does that happen? We bought this car because it was certified and I don't want to chip it if there's a chance we'll lose the warranty. Also, I've seen the vague terms used by Audi to tell us what will void the warranty. Has anyone heard stories of a catback exhaust voiding a warranty? I know it shouldn't, but wanted to know if there are any experiences on this that would tell otherwise.
Thanks everyone.

As for the chip and the trim replacement, I would go to the local aftermarket shop. Every city has their own place to go. They will have catelogs that you can look through and find what you like.
