I am looking for info on a water leak that appears to be from under the intake manifold but I am unable to see or feel the leak origin with the engine running & using eyesight or a mirror. 1998 A6 Quattro AHA 2.8 L engine. Also where is the auxillary water pump on this motor located? I do not see it behind the alternator as the Bently CD manual suggests.

 

Only two possible places "under" the intake manifold (for both leaks the fluid should pool in the valley pan area):

1) back of the T-stat housing
2) back of the water pump housing
