Oh my 99 Avant
My Avant celebrated its 215K milestone and runs as smooth as butter. I love my car and I hope I can keep it going as well as it has been. I guess the prior owner really kept it up to par. Honestly, I haven't seen too many of these with that high of mileage. Are the other milers out there??

My daughter's 1998 Audi Avant, with 2.8L AFC engine and C4 chassis, had bad head gaskets, a plugged cylinder block coolant drain and a bad back pressure flap motor on the heater/ airconditioning. It's at 120,000 miles.
The Bentley manual claims that this V71 air flow flap motor is not on USA/Canada vehicles. However, the V71 motor is still shown on the wiring diagrams.
The new V71 motor also malfunctioned, but with the flap in the closed position. This is the flap between the heater box and the evaporator box at the top of the large round tube in a small plastic box.
I took the climate control head out and tested it on a 1996 Audi A6 Avant, so it is not the control head. So, perhaps the new V71 motor or the wiring is defective. The control head diagnostic channel 1 was giving an error code of 15.1, back pressure flap motor position sensor G113, static open. VAG-COM was used to delete the error code, but then it came back.
The terminal for the new V71 motor took some effort to properly connect, as it's supporting bracket was too weak. None of the other terminals have been so troublesome, since their mounting brackets are stronger.
