oil in the air intake hose
1.8T engine 2001, found excessive oil deposits in the air intake hose (connecting air filter housing and turbo) coming from pressure regulating valve for crankcase breather. im concerned because oil contaminated air enters the turbo directly.

just wondering if its normal for oil to escape through crankcase breather.
should i change the valve?

RE: oil in the air intake hose
1.8T? Do you have an A6 or an A4? Regardless there is supposed to be some oil in the intake on a turbo car, if its really excessive (lets say 1 quart) then change the PCV or Puck valve.
You can also add an oil catch can to keep the oil away from the turbo intake.
