P0441 EVAP Purge Valve problem solved !!!

Well, i been fighting with my check engine light cause P0441 EVAP Purge Valve , but today i found solution, how to fix it.

At first, u need to check resistance with digital multimeter. Usually should show about 22 - 30 ohms.
Then check harness. Should show between 13-16 Volt (set your multimeter for DC measuring).
If numbers match with those posted, Looks like like your EVAP Valve is just JAM !!!

So what i did was really easy :)

Remove EVAP Valve and spray inlet with WD40. Then bring 12V in to it. You should hear and feel clicks. Change polarization of power supply and spray WD40 again.

After that, put all back together and start engine. If you not hear and feel clicking, just knock on valve :)

My start working on third whack :)

I am having the same code, thanks for the solution. However, I am new to Audis and also absolutly no expert on cars (maybe not even beginner) can you send me more specific information on how to fix it? Maybe some pictures or more detailed information on where the parts are?
Thank you so much!

Just solved mine, looked into the holes, one of them contained black stuff, with a needle/pin cleaned it up, connected hose to mouth, 6V (was enough to make it click) to valve and air went through without the former noted restriction, whoa!

I know this thread is dead, but I just wanted to post that this helped me out tremendously! Instead of having the EVAP syatem smoked for $200 just to FIND the issue, I used this thread and with the help of the forum, replaced the N80 Purge Valve on my 2007 Audi A6 4.2L!! Spent $30 and about an hour waiting on the engine to cool off. Maybe 20 minutes of labor... maybe. Very easy! 2 hoses, thats it! The car no longer has the MIL (P0456 code), gas is not being sucked out of the tank at a rapid rate while driving, and the A/C is blowing cold air consistently... Who knew that small part would make such a difference! :D

Hi, this looks great. Would someone be kind enough to put step by step / photos guide on how to go about it?
Thanks!

P0441 code

• Remove and discard the screen from the inlet side of the EVAP Purge Valve -N80, using a 4mm thread tap and T-handle. The EVAP Purge Valve does not need to be removed from vehicle for the inlet screen removal. • Before starting Updating programming of the ECM the operation of the EVAP Purge Valve -N80 must be tested to insure proper operation after the inlet screen is removed. In the Tester select - Vehicle Self Diagnosis- Basic Setting 006 - MVB 70 to run the EVAP purge Valve short trip test. • If the EVAP Purge Valve passes the short trip test, continue with Update Programming. Do not replace the EVAP Purge Valve. • If the EVAP Purge Valve fails the short trip test after the inlet screen is removed, continue to diagnose the condition and perform necessary repairs with the use of Guided Fault Finding and the Repair Manual. These additional repairs are not covered by this Technical Service Bulletin.

This is the fix that was added from my ob2 seemed to work to atleast let me know i had a bad valve bought a new one from ebay and worked fine

Audi A6 2016 Quattro Plus 3.0t

Check engine light on. Error codes. P0451 and P2024.

P0451: Evaporative Emission System Pressure Sensor / Switch Range / Performance. Permanent
P2024: Evaporative Emissions Fuel Vapor Sensor Circuit. Pending

I.e. it is a different code (not P0441). My mechanic, who is an authorized VW mechanic that works at a VW dealership that also has an Audi dealership said I probably needed an N80 purge valve. I have not checked the recommended suggestion at the start of this thread and will try it.

Any other suggestions? I have started looking around for the valve and emailed EuroParts.
