Just thought I'd post a few pics of my new LED lights. Wasn't really going to upgrade them but both the originals had cracks in them- great excuse to upgrade!

where did you get the LED's?

I bought them off eBay. I'm based in the UK and I found it difficult to source any in this country, then by fluke, there was a UK selleroffering his ones (2 weeks old- well as good as new, original packing etc, came of his RS6). Cost me £125 GBP inc delivery.

There are many sellers on Germany's eBay selling them from about 180 EUR plus P&P. www.ebay.de

I'm pleased with the purchase, it gives the whole car a much more 'modern/clean' look.

Should be getting the 'chrome' indicator bulbs for the front to hide the ugly amber glow and perhaps the 'crystal' look side repeater lenses to finish the whole look.

I only installed them just before posting the original message, so haven't got any night pics- will post if I get time to take some.

I know what you mean by sourcing things in the UK. If you find something, it normally costs more than to order it from Germany and have it shipped over. Only problem is, my German is useless.

I was fortunate with my last vehicle. I got my work friends to get stuff for me from the States...

Perhaps there isn't a big enough market for A6 modification.

I've actually order a few [non-automotive] things from eBay Germany, just use a language translation tool from the internet (http://babel.altavista.com/)and you're ready to go- and everything that I did get has actually been cheaper including the P&P.

In general eBay Germany tends to have moreparts (from more sellers)for our Audis. Saw a boot lip spoiler on there, factory colour coded for £50

Would these LED tail lights cause a problem? When a regular bulb goes out, it will trigger the the display in the dash to light up and let you know its out. Willthis still function correctly with the type of lighting being different. Aren't there voltage differences between a standard 12V light bulb and LED lights?

I think the paint is called "Santorin Blue Pearl (LZ5K)". Was going to take more pictures but it's started to rain here in London- just polished it a couple days ago!

Not really thought about that- good point though. Although, as I understand it, LED bulbs have a fargreater life span than a regular bulb, so not something that concerns me.
