Default Please help w/ this code

Alright, ever since I bought the car I've had issues w/ it going into limp mode intermittently. Only happens when I shift from park into reverse or drive and sometimes will happen a couple times in one day (or in a row) and then not happen for a week or more. Per recommendations on here and the local Audi dealer, I replaced the little black accordian looking piece that you can see through the shifter gate (has two magnets on its underside). Haven't had the problem for about 3 weeks, but it popped up again yesterday. Happened twice this morning (I usually shut the car off and restart and it 'fixes' itself).

Anyway, it triggered CEL today.

Engine showed:

18032 - MIL request signal active (check tcm for errors too!)
P1624 - 008 - Implausible signal - intermittent

TCM showed:

17090 - transmission range sensor (f125): Implausible signal
P0706 - 003 - mechanical failure - intermittent - MIL on

Ideas???

Have you pulled the connector off the tranny range sensor and clean it?

Auditech - We've talked about this issue before and you even sent me instructions on how to replace the part that I did. So, I thought that piece WAS the transmission range switch? I thought it was the combination of the circuit board and the black piece w/ the two magnets? Only other switch I know of is physically on the transmission housing and I thought that was the neutral safety?!?

If replacing the TR switch didn't fix it then its a problem with the linkage at the transmission. Follow the linkage to the trans and try playing with the adjustment. There is a write up somewhere on audiworld for this fault code and the adjustment that fixed it. If i could find it i would post it for you.
