Popping noise in front passenger side

2000 Audi A6

Ok I had this popping noise and had my mechanic take a look at it. We determined that it was the front lower ball joint was bad, so I took it home and had the new control arm ordered from O'rielly's for about 100 bucks.

I replaced it yesterday with the only problem being had to really hit the ball joint to get it out. After the new one was in, I put everything back together and stuck a bar under tire to test if I heard or felt it still. Nothing, so thought all was good. But after driving this morning it is back. It only does it on big bumps and when i turn left because I am guess there is more pressure at that point.

So I am thinking that maybe the newer stronger ball joint may have caused another one to go out that was weaker? What are anyone elses ideas or thoguhts? Anyone else had this problem?

I am going to back to muy mechanic, but wanted to throw this out there for ideas. I dont have alot of money to spend on troublshooting. Thanks Gary

maybe you should have replaced both lower control arms instead of one....just to make sure.

try replacing the other lower control arm.

Or could this be the upper strut bearing? The popping sounds kinda like something is hitting the inner plastic wheel well. And nothing there to hit so I am at a loss.

I am thinking of saving some money and holding out for a bit to get a control arm kit and strut kit from blauparts and just replace it all, I just turned 100K on it
