Default Problems removing rotor

I have a 98 2.8L and my driver's side rotor will not come off. I've done the passenger side already and it just fell off. I've sprayed the crap out of it with PB Blaster and nothing.
Is there something I'm missing?????

My next step is to try a crow bar. Any suggestions?????

Hit it back and forth with a hammer on both sides of the rotor until you break it loose. I've had to break out a 5 lb sledge hammer for rotors before.

Dido, you may just have rust or corrosion causing the rotor to stick to the axel.

I sprayed WD-40 all around the rotor, let it set for a few minutes and tapped it on top a few times to remove it. Good Luck.

Recently did all four corners on mine, and had to take a hammer to one of them for a couple minutes before it would budge. You didn't mention if you were doing front or rear, but if you're doing rears, be sure to get the specialized tool that turns the pistons when it compresses them. I thought I could get by without, but really there is no sane way around that one.

Thanks guys for the responses. I finally got it off. After spraying it all over with PB Blaster, hitting it with a mallet, hitting it with a hammer, taking a lunch break so the blaster would have more time to soak in, and hitting it again with a hammer it finally came off.
I did the fronts only and replaced the rotors with Brembo rotors and the pads with Akebono Euro Ceramics. The breaks feel a lot better and I know from putting Akebono's on my Bimmer that the days of brake dust on my rims are all over [8D].

No more brake dust you say? I'm interested and wish to subscribe to your newsletter.

Any more info on these miracle pads? Are they noisy?

Not noisy and leave no dust. Check out the reviews on www.tirerack.com or look for more info here: www.akebonobrakes.com
