Default question about the 2000 6spd quattro drivetrain

how much hp/tq can this thing take? assuming you can keep the clutch from slipping, how much tq can you put through to the wheels without being in real danger of tearing out the dif or the tranny or twisting up an axle.

A slipping clutch may be what saves the rest of the drivetrain. I chipped mine and 10k later needed to replace the clutch/flywheel. Went for stage2 parts and have not had a problem in 76k miles since. I plan to install K04s at some point (when the oem turbos fail) and expect the stage2 clutch to handle it. But I do not try and spin the tires in a 2 ton AWD drive car because that will just break parts. Get it rolling, then accelerate briskly to 6000 rpm in each gear. It's over 100 mph quickly in third gear. GIAC claims 318hp. Torque unknown.
