I'm very new here and inexperienced when it come to audi. I'm in the market for a used A6 maybe a 98 - 99. I just wanted to know your experience with the care of this car. I am a maxima lover but really like the A6. I never had any problems with the max. How much is maintainence on this car and is there any real problems associated with the A6. I know audi had a bad reputation a few years ago but i now need your help. Should i or should i not purchase this car???</P>

My wife had several Maximas over the years and found them to be comfortable, fast, and low-maintenence. We still have a Pathfinder. We've also owned a series of Audis and the current model is a '99 A6 2.8. It's a much more reliable car than the other Audis we've had but it does not match our Nissan reliability experience.

I just finished replacing the AC compressor this morning out in the garage and it was a pain. Course I must tell you it's got 159K. Will I keep buying Audi -- absolutely!<img border="0" src=smileys/smiley1.gif border="0">

 

My family has owned Audi's for over 20 years, and we currently have an 1999 Audi A6 2.7T. We have not had any major problems with it yet, and it gets driven pretty hard. As long as you care for her, I'm sure an A6 will fit smoothly into your Maxima family.</P>
