Rad fan nw update!
My 1996 A6 2.6 avant radiator fans wont cut in they will only cut in when the AC is turned on, today the fan switch on the radiator was replaced and its still not working, however while plugged in on the comp, the idling has been playing up of late with it revving by itself to 1500 rpm then cutting out. the comp apparently displays the actual running temp however when the idle increases it dispalys that the temp has dropped quite a bit when obviously it hasnt. Therefore am i right in thinking that the temp sensor is telling the ecu that theres no need for the fan to cut in as the temps to low when it actually isnt. On the other hand thou there is no faults been displayed whatsoever.
Does anyone know where this temp sensor is and what sort of job is it to replace it.
The temp gauge is reading as it should and when it boiled a few days ago the gauge said everything was normal. Is there a seperate sensor for the temp gauge or is it included in the temp sensor for the over fuelling on a cold start etc?
Thanks in advance
