Radio gets power but no sound...
 

I have a 2001 Audi A6 with the Symphony radio. It has worked for me just fine, but the other day I got in the car and the radio turns on but I get no sound from any of the speakers? Could it be the deck or something else? I have pulled the deck out and made sure everything is connected good. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

do you have the factory carphone? is it possible that it's stuck in phone mode where it mutes the stereo?

Nope, no car phone hooked up. I wonder if that part of the system has messed up though and is muting the radio?

Did you ever figure this out because mine is doing the same thing and i dont know how to get it out of phone mode.

mine is real quiet in the cold till it warms up.

God forbid I use the volume knob to turn it up either!

Audi calls these problematic design flaws "Characteristics"

I don't see any answers here. Mine is doing the very same thing. 2004 A6 Quattro

Has anyone ever solved this? My b5 just started doing this yesterday... Radio powers on, shows stations/songs/etc the volume knob does nothing at all.

I had this issue I had to unplug the fuse and plug it back in.
