rattling noise around driver front tire when cold
OK, my 4th month and roughly 5000 miles into my ownership of my 2000 A6 2.7t, now I can hear a rattling noise around the driver (left) front tire area when the car is cold. For example, in the first5 minutes of current Michigan7:00 am. I can't hearmuch after about 10 minutes of driving and almost nothing after half an hour. I mostly only hear it in low speed also and I thinkwhen I tap on the brake, most of the time the noise goesaway. After some search, it sounds like the heat shield or whatever on the exhault. But why no noise with brake? What do you guys think? I hope to get some suggestion before checking it out. Thank you very much!

Intermittent rattle in an Audi....NEVAR...j/k.
The heat shield is a possibility, it could also be a belt or ilder pulley, or a cooling fan. There are a lot of possibilities under the hood. It could also be a tick from the engine itself. I would suggest trying to get it up on a lift and listen for the sound to try and pinpoint it. It really is the only way.
