I just had a fuel pump replaced as well as my timing belt on my 2004 A6 2.7 quattro. Now, the red oil light is coming on and beeping every minute practically. Did my repair do something??? I did not have this problem before. This car is really costing me some money.

 

1. Who did the timing belt for you? Taking all the steps to lock everything to correct timing while changing the belt is extremely important. Incorrect timing causes all types of problems.

2. Get under the front of your car, check to make sure the oil level sensor on the rectangular oil pan is intact and wiring is ok. If the shop accidentally broke that sensor have them replace it.

3. If the oil level sensor is ok, pull the dipstick & check the oil level, if its low top it off. Make sure you only run Audi VW approved full synthetic (5w -40 or 0w - 40).

4. Find out if your oil pressure is low of the level is low. Makes the difference between a new oil pump, or an ever so common oil leak
