Unhappy removing cataly converter s.o.s

im working on a a6 3.0 fwd ive removed clamps , exhaust manifold nuts cant figure out how to slide out the catalyc has anybody ever removed one could use some direction thanks

Looking at Alldata, the job requires removing the section of the exhaust that the converter is in. This process involves disconnecting the driveshaft and lowering the transmission to clear the bolts you need to get to. I suggest getting an Alldata subscription to view the procedure, it'll be worth the $25 it costs.

right side ratleling pretty bad right side exhaust pipe plugged no air coming out of there at all all o2 sensors recntly replaced
CEL flashing off and on
getting these codes p0421 warm up catalyst bank 1......
p0300 ramdon multiply cylinder missfire detected
p0304 cylinder 4 missfire detected

unfortunate my has 100 k miles
im replacing cat tomorrow rented a transmission jack . transmission needs to be lowered to be able to slide cat out im following alldata instructions

Are you sure it's not just the heat shield though? My left side Pre-cat's heat shield sounded like an old fashioned fire bell until we finally got it off last week.

dont think its the shield
when i remove the clamp connecting the cat to midle muffler-- there is pressure coming out of there when i connected back on there is no pressure at all on tail pipe on right side (passenger side ) driver side tail pipe is blowing right side not getting anything at all
i tried removing cat my self could not get it done im so frea...ng frustrated im gonna take it to a shop rented the tranny jack for 3 days 150 bucks cat was 350 bucks
still not 100 percent it is the cat
