Default replacing the Low beam

So I got that annoying BEEEEEP today and looked at my dash. I saw an image of something that confused the hell out of me. The resourceful guy I am, I bust out the owners manual and get to work hunting for the answer. I came across the message center sectionaland discovered my left Low Beam is out. Ok. Fair enough, God tends to do things to point and laugh. So, now I'm faced with the thought of a DIY and defy the mighty owners manual or heed it's warning and take it to the dealer to replace it. Has anyone done it themself or know how much I'm looking to spend? Any and all responses are appreciated, preferably before I go and zap myself.

Is the bulb actually out? There isn't usually a warning light for the bulb going out, but there is one for the headlight adjusting motor.

I don't know, all the manual says is"Check, repair or replace: -Light bulbs -Fuses -Electrical connector". I guess I'll check the fuse in the morning to find out if it's open. If it isn't the fuse or bulb, what might it be?

there is a warning light - top part of the dis illuminates in yellow with a symbol to inform of bulb failure.

the bulbs are quite easy to change- you have to remove some trim to access the area but are possible with little fuss.

Is your car Halogen or HID equipped? HID's are much more expensive, and are more involved to replace. Halogens are a snap and real cheap. Check to see that the light is actually out though first, if it isn't, consider checking into the leveling motor.
