Default Retarded Water leak need help

At first I though maybe a water bottle leaked, so I cleaned car took everything out dried up all the water. A week later (a week of rain) I noticed another puddle building up on the front passenger side where your feet go. It looks like the water is coming from behind the glove box because theres 2 streaks of water coming down from the other side of the carpet. My only guess is theres either a hole in the firewall, and the seals are worn. Or just the seals around the door/under the hood around the battery are worn and I need new seals?

I really need some help I'm out of work currently and short on funds.

It's a 2003 A6 4.2 w/ 100,000 miles on it.

Tried searching the forums and only failed.

The black bezel behind the wipers.
clean and Re caulk that. a small light bead of black across the top when your done. It won't cost you more than $10 for the caulk and solvent.

Also clean debris out of the battery tray area.

Check your cabin air filter. The water leaks right through there.

also make sure no water has gotten into the tcm as it is below the carpet on the passenger side. water gets in their and you might have to throw the car away as they are ridiculously expensive if you can find one.

Thanks guys you were definitely right. I took off the plastic cover over the cabin filter/batter/brake fluid and then pored some water on the windsheild.....you guys wouldn't believe how much water pored straight into the cabin filter....So I resealed it with water proof silicon windsheild stuff hope it works.
