Default Rotor screw up? or Not?

Hi,

I just replaced the front and rear rotors on my 2006 A6.

After finishing I realized that the rotors had "L" and "R" on them. On the front I put them on the wrong way around. The rotors are EBC and have the groves and holes (well dimples) in the. So does it make a big difference which way the groove is pointing?

Do I need to go back and switch the rotors?

Thanks.

Pat.

There is a reason why they had an L and an R. Go back and do it the right way.

Yes I understand that. On the EBC site it just says they "should" be put on that way?

Are the rear rotors on 2006 vented? It really doesn't matter unless the rotors are vented. Vented directional rotors have veins that are aligned to cool the rotors properly. Otherwise, I wouldn't worry about it.

They'll still stop you, but the pads may not last as long and they may not cool properly. When a mfr makes a R and a L, there's a reason. I'm glad you don't work on my car. Suck it up and do it right. Until you do, please don't drive behind me.
