Default Rough Idle

I don't know if any of you experienced this, but I have a 1999 A6 avant with a rough idle. Is this normal? If not, what is the issue and what can be done about it?

I ran some Redex through mine. It certainly improved things. Apparently the dirt in the throttle body can cause rough idle and the Redex or something similar cleans it all up a bit for you. Worh a try.

If its a 2.8 it could be carbon builup. Could also be a vacuum leak.
