Rough Idle when engine is cold

Rough Idle when engine is cold
I have a 2008 A6 3.2. When I start it up in the morning when engine is cold, it would vibrate around 1200 rpm for about 30 sec to 60 sec., once rpm go down to 600, it would smooth out. Sometimes the check engine light comes on and it would go away 2 or 3 days later and eventually come back on. The dealer said it was misfiring on cylinder 3 and 4 due to lean fuel and told me to use Shell 93 octane, which I have been using anyways. Does anybody out there have a similar issue? What was the solution?
Thank You

There is a TSB for your problem. It involves an update of the ECM software. I don't know what software version you have but drop me a PM with your e-mail address and reference the stumbling cold engine and I will send you the TSB.

Many of the dealers do not do the work to track down all of the TSBs that are issued for a car. Bringing the TSB helps the dealer focus. Certainly the dealer has told me on more than one occassion that he was unaware of the TSB that I was showing him, but that when he plugged in the number it did come up in the database.

Thank you Kevin for the TSB.
vereyezon, I already been to the dealer. The MIL went off when I bought the car in and they think it was bad gas. Told me to use Shell super unleaded and go back if MIL come on again. Since then its back on, I found that once I start the car and pump the gas a few time, the engine does not misfire due to lean fuel. I wonder if I have a bad fuel pump or sensor or something. Since this only happens when the car have been sitting for more than 12 hours, I wonder if the fuel line not prime when it sits for a while. Anybody have any thoughts on this issue?
