Default RS6 Tip different than A6 Tip?

I was just curious if the Tiptronics were different in these two cars, as far as handling torque. I've read that the Tip in my 2.7t won't handle the extra power from a chip.

Thanks

When you chip an engine you are supposed to chip the transmission as well to help increase the life of the transmission. I cant say for sure but i highly doubt the trans behind your 250hp 2.7 is the same trans that is behind the 450hp rs6.

The tip will handle the power of a chip pretty easily. It's generally when it comes time for a ko4 swap that you would consider TC/valvebody upgrade or a full level 10 build.

the A6 and RS6 trans share the same base but the trans it self is different tech gearing and parts. The RS6 trans has issues handling the power of the 4.2T but so far it seems that the 2.7T transmissions are in good shape...until the ko4 comes in
