S4 Chip in a a6?

Hi, i have been searching for this but havent found much information. Basically i have been in contact with a few people regarding a "L" box ECU from a 2001.5 B5 S4 tiptronic.. i would like to try and use this in my a6 same engine and transmission.. even the year is the same except my computer is a "t" box. I have called my local GIAC dealer and they say it is not possible but i would like a second opinion. Also there is an APR chip on ebay for sale with the excact same ECU number is mine but as far as the Immobilizer is concerned... would i have to get my keys reprogrammed? Or because its the same ECU number the keys will be fine.

thanks alot

Just pay the money to get it done right by a APR or GIAC dealer. You should have no problems. It's $500 and it is something you shouldn't go cheap on.

Changed my mind

Well i was going to but my local GIAC dealer wants 595 for the chip, 75 for labor and the tax would be 30$... so now its up to 700 minus the fact that i would be able to have a spare stock ecu. I have made my decision and will be buying the Apr ecu off of my friend, the numbers match up excatly and i have vag-com to clone the immobilizer numbers, well apr offers a program. My latest dilema is that the CEL is on and i need to diagnose that problem before dropping money into this car.

thanks

L & T are not interchangeable.
