Hey there everyone. Registered a while ago, haven't posted, so, thanks to a problem, I am!

Anyhoo...

Had car serviced this week for routine service and sparing everyone the details of how (for the first time) they were horrible with everything they did, I'll say that today, I noticed a strange behavior on my A6...

Seems when I start the car, the passenger side mirror starts adjusting itself...Down towards the ground, then back up into position I had it set to...

Anyone have any experience with this type of anomaly?

That is an Audi feature. When the shift is put in reverse the passenger side mirror points down so you can see the curb. I believe it works only when the passenger side mirror is selected for adjustment, but it might be when neither mirror is selected.

If the mirror switch is left on "R" the passenger mirror will tilt downward when you shift into reverse (this is only on cars with the memory seats). This allows you to see the curb when backing up into a parking space. If you set the mirror control to the center position the mirror will not move. Judging by the number of cars with curbed rims, more people should use this handy little feature...;)
