slow wipers

I've got a A6 3.0...2002. Sometimes after little use, my wipers are very slow. Even when I move them to high speed they are slow. Eventually they speed up, but I'm concern that I'm on the verge of a failure. Any familiarity w/ this issue?? Is it a known problem?

Thanks,

Usually means the wiper linkage is getting corroded. Not sure what it takes to remove it and lube the joints, but that should be your first action. Could also be a motor going bad.

I agree. Sounds like the linkage is corroding in the joints and stiffening up. If it has too much resistance it will start popping fuses. I never had to change it on the audi, but it was fairly simple on my old tiburon.
