Sound like turn signal stalk?
2000 A6 Quattro 2.7T w/cruise control. Recently the turn signals in either direction would work (blink just a few times) and then just stay on and not blink. I moved the steering wheel and the light just stayed on until the self-cancelling clicked it off. Confirmed that all lights were working, so fuse is O.K. or the lights wouldn't work at all but changes it too. Happens for both right and left. I'm leaning towards turn signal stalk. Car has 134,000 miles on it; this has happened once or twice in the past but very infrequently and when I turned the signal off and turned it back on it worked fine. Now when the car is started from cold, it will blink in either direction a few times (maybe 5-10) and then just stay on. Almost as if something is stuck in the switch and circuit is closed for the light. I can manually blink the turn signal, which is a big PIA as you can imagine. Suggestions?
Hazard lights which are on a different circuit and fuse work just fine.
Thanks.

This happened to me in May of 2012. It was the relay in the hazard button housing. (Within the little triangle you press for your hazard lights).
