Default Speedometer acting up....

Hi guys,
Car is 00 A6 2.7t 168k
Now I tried searching but I didn't find d same symptoms as mine. My speedometer is acting up but only d digital part of it. Middle screen is known to have problems but as I'm driving everything works, speed, gas, temp neddles but d digital middle screen n screen for miles, trip miles, clock turn off n a beeping sound comes out of nowhere for like 30 seconds. Sometimes they will come back on right away but sometimes after I turn off n on d car. Can it b I need a new cluster? I find it wierd that half of work n d other dont? Maybe connectors r loose in d back? I have to check but is pretty cold out here 23 degrees but it feels like 11 !!
Thanks for any help

There are two speed control settings that go off (very annoying) when you exceed a certain speed. I have managed to avoid setting them for a few years and forgot how, but they are either set by the buttons on the righthand stick or the left control **** in the display itself.
