Spongy brake pedal feel...(long story)
I just replaced my front stock pads with Mintex Redbox and now the brake pedal feels spongy where it almost needs to be pressed to the floor to get a hard stop. I did notice that if you pump the brakes after the initial spongy press, the pedal feel becomes stiffer. Almost seems as though the pumping is building pressure to provide a firmer typical feel. Any thoughts as to what might be causing this? The fluid level is still a little above the strainer so I think it's at a good level. The dealer was going to replace the pads for about $300 so I decided to save $$$ and do it myself. They weren't going to replace rotors and shaving them is not recommended, so I'm also using the same rotors. Could this be the problem eventhough they weren't going to replace them? This is for my A6 2.7T with the 1-piston ATE calipers. Any help or suggestion is much appreciated. [/align]

Somehow you got air in your lines. You need to bleed the the air out. Do a search here, google, anywere for how to bleed your brakes.
Best of luck,
