Squeeky steering-wheel
Hey guys!
I have a 2000mod A6 1,8T Avant.
I get a squeeky sound when turning the wheel sounding like rubber against rubber or metal. Can't really say for sure, bot I dont think it's metal on metal.
I have dismounted the cover under the steeringwheel down to the pedals and I have lubricated every joint and seal I could see.
When the engine is cold there is no sound, but when the wall between the engine and the pedals gets worm... it squeeks like crazy... (And then I get crazy...)
I suspect it's the bearing or rubberseal or whatever it is that goes through the wall and onto the "powersteeringrack" in the enginecompartement (Excuse my english
I have also tried to lubricate from the engineside of the wall with no luck... (Very little room around there
Has anyone of you experienced anything like this, or does anyone have some good tips to how I can get lubrication to the right place?
I rely on you guys!
Thnx in advance.
Greetings from Norway
Peter
