start up on a cold engine...
hey guys, this might be just me being paranoid about everything but,
whenever i start the engine after its been turned off
for a long time (ex. overnight), for about 1~2 minutes the car
gets really loud and the turbos dont seem to be functioning.
the car is just very loud for a while then after a while it goes away
and the car is perfectly fine...
is this a normal wam-up procedure? or is there something
i should be worried about...

RE: start up on a cold engine...
The noise you hear on cold start is secondary air injection pump. It pumps air into the exhasut to speed up catalytic converter warm up. The pretty load to begin with so its hard to say its abnormally loud without being there. As for the lack of power that is definatly not normal. As for the cold start lack of power, you may want to have your coolant temp sensor looked at. Usually a temp related power or drivabilty concern can be fixed by replacing it.
