Default Symphany II Security code Question

I'm New to to both Audi and this forum, but I could not find any postings with a way to retrieve the security code from a working radio in an Audi A6 2002 with Symphony II. The radio works now, but I need the code in case the battery is replaced or a fuse is blown. I have the owner's manual when I purchased the car used, but the card with CODE is missing from the pamphlet. All other postings are mostly when the radio is in SAFE mode already.

Thanks

The only way I know to get the code is to go to the Stealership. It usually costs about $100.

It does not cost 100$. But he is right, only the dealer can retrieve the code. Usually for 30 min labor (which is the minimum they charge for anything) It only takes them a few min to do. I just paid 40$ to get mine a month ago.

LOL That's only $80 per hour. My Indy usually charges that.

The Stealership usually $100/hour and a computer hook-up fee.
I've seen some stealers charging $125 - $150 an hour plus the computer hook-up fee.

If you got it for $40 you must have brought the guy a cup of strong coffee. ;-)

Yikes time to change dealers. Mine charges 90/hr and no fancy "hookup fees" aka plug the cord in. I actually paid 47something after tax i think.

Are you located in the depressed central part of the country -- In New England they charge a zillion dollars to talk with you - That's why I only goto a Stealership if I can't do it myself, or it takes special tools that my INDY dosen't have.
