Symphony II cassette malfunction??
 

Hi, I have a Sony cassette adapter for my media players and Blackberry that I cannot get to work with my recently-purchased 2003 3.0 A6. It works fine on at least four other vehicles. The cassette player works flawlessly when I insert a regular music cassette, but when I insert the adapter, I get nothing except the faint sound of the heads or mechanism. If I raise the volumes to the highest levels on both the devices and the Symphony II, I can hear a very faint sound of the source playing. I looked in the stereo manual and there is nothing to suggest I'm missing something. Am I? Any ideas on what may be the problem? I know there are other connection solutions, but I prefer this system. Thank you.

i do this all the time and dont have a problem. It happened once but it was that the blackberry had gone from active headset to active speaker. Check that out it might be the problem.

Thank you for responding. Do you have the same Symphony II unit? As I said, the adapter won't work with any device and yet it works fine with three devices on my other cars. The Archos and Zune have only one mode and I've checked modes on the Blackberry.
