Default Is there any major service to be done around 100K miles?

Hi,

Does anybody know anything about complete service for 100K miles??? I don't have the manual and can't tell if I should have a complete service done @ 100K miles or not.

Also, if possible, please post the service intervals for which I had to have a major servicing done for my car.

Car description:
01' A6 Quattro 2.8
95000 miles

Thanks.

Have you done your 90k mile service?

I own an older A6 with the older 2.8Lt engine. I don't have the maintenance manual either. But I do know that the timing belt has to be replaced every 90k miles (or about 150k km). A dealer should be able to tell you what else is done in 90k and/or 100k mile interval. If you haven't done the timing belt change yet, you should definitely do it ASAP. It's a critical thing and if it goes you're in for some good chunk of money. Try to find a local TRUST WORTHY mechanic to do this, as dealer's price is perhaps high (won't hurt to get a price quote from them though). Correct me if I'm wrong but it may be a good idea to change the thermostat and water pump when changing the timing belt.

Hope this helps
