is there a difference

just wondering if there is a differnece in the 2.8 v6 in the 2001 a6 and the 3.0 in the 2002 in the a6, besides .2 liters of displacement? is it from the ground up a completely different motor?

Other than approximately 20 more horses and ft.lbs of torque, they are the same motor. 3.0 just has longer stroke, but the block, and the engine management for each motor is pretty much the same. I think the 3.0 is aluminum block.
3.2 is FSI, a direct injection motor, which is quite different from 2.8s and 3.0s.

just wondering cause i seen the super charger for the 3.0's but not the 2.8's and was wondering if it would still bolt up and work.

does anyone see a problem with this , the pes kit is made for the 2002 3.0 v6 and since the 2001 2.8 v6 is the same except for .2 liters or should i opt for the g2 charger for the 98-01 a4 2.8 ?

They are totally different motors (the only similarities are 5 valves per cylinder and the fact that they are V-6s). And you can only use the G2 kit for the 2.8 and G3 kit for the 3.0...also if you happen to have a 3.0 CVT, the tranny will not handle the extra power and the belts will break.

There's hope for you, just not for your current A6. Dump it and buy a 2.7T and you can mod to your heart's content.
