Default Timing Belt Service Bill

Those of you who will be doing their timing belts soon, heres what my bill came up to:

tooth belt - 85.95
roller - 146.47
roller - 118.47
beltdamper - 202.27
lever - 229.97
water pump - 193.97
cool.add. - 26.22
thermostat - 55.97
seal - 1.67
ribbedbelt - 74.12
labour -952

total - 2087 + tax = 2372.84 CAD

2002 A6 4.2 167K km Toronto, ON

You've got better beer up there, but much worse prices. I had my TB done March 2007 (by my indie shop): $450 labor and I bought the Blauparts kit for $354.86.

I paid 1350 total at dealership. and got car back nextday.

Audi dealership is doing it for 4 hours labor + full kit 350 = $750 timing belt

They r doing my cams, injectors and timing belt for a 10 hours of service

I can't help but notice that the original poster is discussing the price on a TB for a 4.2 and all of the comments about the price being high are from drivers of 2.7s. I wonder if there is a different amount of work on the 4.2. I also notice that the price of parts quoted on the 4.2 is higher than what 2.7 owners are reporting for parts and labor combined.

Also, if I'm not mistaken, those prices are Canadian dollars... We'd need a conversion for a proper answer
