Default tip chip

ok everyone. heres a question that im sure has been asked. ive searched around but cant find much. my 01 2.7 only has a cat back on it, for now the only other perf mod will be downpipes after that. i do not want to mod it out too much because i do not want stuff to start breaking because its my dd to school and work. one thing i would like to do is put a giac tip chip in it. im wondering if anyone has had experience with this chip. and is it going to cause problems with my tranny or torque converter sooner then any typical problems might occur? i would like to get better shifting but i do not want to put the chip in my car if it will cause the tranny or tc to blow sooner then they might one day (knock on wood). anyone have any luck with it?

I have heard good things about it.
Once I get another job, I will be ordering the Tip and engine chips from GIAC...

makes little difference. Go for the VAST tip chip stage3 instead.
Love it and was cheaper. VAST has great customer service.

I don't think it'lll blow your tranny, but most mods do reduce the life of other parts... if you start pushing it, revving it up, brake launching.... then yo will reuce the life of the tranny and if you continue driving normally, I would expect the tranny life expectency to remain close to what it is with a stock chip. Email Kurt@vastperformance.com who created the tip chip for vAST and have him explain to you how it works and the impact to the tranny. even better call him.... he or Prince will gladly answer all your questions. A lot of folks have the tip chips and no tranny issues.
