tire pressure sensors
I picked up a 2005 A6 4.2 a few months ago and just had snow tires put on the stock 17s .
I do not plan on swapping rubber in the spring , instead I will be getting a summer set of 20s .
My question is about the tire pressure sensors . I don't actually know where they are in relation to the tires and if I will also need another set for the new wheels .

I am not sure about tire pressure sensors for the Audi but my experience last week with a rental PT-cruiser has me convinced they are a PITA.. On the PT-cruiser the sensor was part of the valve assembly so if you have another set of wheels and want the sensors to work you will need sensors for them.
By the way factory sensors for the lowly PT-cruiser were about $100 each-- I can just imagine what the dealer charges for Audi Sensors. I'd try Blauparts, Force Five, or all of the parts houses people list in this forum before going to an Audi dealer....

The wheels and tires will trump any possible cost here for new sensors by such a large margin that I am actually not all that worried about the cost , I am much more worried about whether or not I actually need them .
At this point my guess is that I will .
