torque convertor (17125) ??
 

Does the code 17125 typically mean you need a new torque convertor? If so how much doea one typically cost? Or can it be rebuilt?

Or is there anything else that this code could mean? My car seems to be going through gears just fine.

Codes for torque converters usually mean they have to be replaced, you cannot re-build them.
The cost is usually about 10 hours of labor plus the cost of the torque converter. You probably won't notice any shifting problems because the fault is usually the tcc locking up at the wrong times.

Hey, I have a 2000 2.7. The check engine came on and I got a code for faulty torque convertor. The car shifted and ran fine. The dealership said that the convertor clutch was malfunctioning and needed to be replaced. I had a warranty and the repair totalled a little over $2500. The convertor was $995, about $1100 for labor, about $172 for fluid, $95 for filter and gasket, about $20 for some clips, plus a couple $ for something else. I had to pay about $350. When I got it back, after they had it a month, the lines from the transmission cooler were leaking. $120 more. Good luck.

You can have your TQ rebuilt in to a performance unit. There are several placed like level 10 that will do that modification for you. But a OEM TQ will cost you less if you shop around
