Tranny fluid?

Is there a dipstick to check the level? or a site glass or something. How often should it be replaced?
Thanks

I don't know theengine, transmission or year of your A6, but I can tell you that my 05 4.2 does not have a dipstick. The fluid is supposedy lifetime but many people seem to change it around 40-50k miles.

I buy and sell cars as a hobby. Over the years I've come to find that Audi VW wants to keep everything a big secret so the dealer service dept's can make a boat load of $. They have a special tool that tells them the level and condition of your tranny fluid. Volvo just started doing the same thing.
