transmission relays?
Are there relays associated with the transmission? Is there a relay for the TCM or just a fuse? I am told i might have a sticking relay but i don't see one in the bentley book besides the "selector lever light relay".

I think they are talking about sticky solenoids not relays. You have many solenoids in your transmission.
"A transmission solenoid is an electro-hydraulic valve that controls fluid flow into and throughout an automatic transmission. Solenoids can be normally open or normally closed. They operate via a voltage or current supplied via the transmission computer or controller. Transmission solenoids are usually installed in a transmission valve body, Transmission Control Unit, or transmission control module." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transmission_Solenoid What are the problems you are experiencing? |
The problem i am having is a transmission fault p1750 i think which says power supply low voltage and everything works fine but all gears are lit up so i can't see which gear i'm in. I describe it in another thread if you searched for that error code, but basically every time i start my car it comes up, if i clear it while driving it stays away until restart. Once in awhile the fault will go away on a start. The reason someone suggested the sticking relay was i changed the fuel filter and when it took a few extra turns to prime the engine the fault didn't come up, but maybe it was just a coincidence. No one i've talked to (every local shop and online here) has had much of a suggestion for this fault.
