Turn signals work only when lights are off
Hi everyone,
This is confusing me with my '96 A6. Lights off, turn signals work Lights on, turn signals don't work Arrgghh! suggestions? Thanks, Bill |
The switch assembly is bad -- You'll need to remove the steering wheel to change it.

Thanks. Not what I wanted to hear but, now on to searching for steering wheel removal instructions W/O setting off the air bag!

It's not hard -
There are two hex screws that you get to from the back side of the wheel - They are really tight. Just be careful to ground yourself before touching the wire. After that it is straight forward job using a wheel puller and a few simple hand tools. I got a used replacement switch from Force Five. In fact I may have an old working switch someplace in the garge because I heard that the switch was prone to breaking. I'll have to look. |
