Unusual Leak under driver side running board of 2006 A6

Hey Folks. I noticed a leak of a gel like consistency dripping from the running board on the driver side where it runs to the rear wheel well. It only leaks when I park on an incline. It's almost like grease in a pan after cooking bacon. I just recently moved to PHX and it was nearly 100 today. Little help.

Thanks

If you could post a picture of what it looks like that might help. What color is the substance? What does it smell like?

I just went outside (car parked level) and no leak, but looked at some residual substance on running board and is has turned somewhat thick and color of grease (whitish/yellow) from a pan of bacon. I checked all the fluids i.e, brake, power steering, oil, tran and all are at max level and no leaks under engine compartment. And it has no smell.

Ok, I'm stumped on this one. There's really nothing in that area that I can think of that will mimic what you're describing. This almost sounds like some kind of grease from a ball joint or other type of fitting.

Most of the time what you'll see is either oil being pushed to the back of the car by the air moving below the car if a leak develops or gear oil leaking from the differential, but you would certainly smell it an it wouldn't look yellowish / white.

If I can think of anything I'll be sure to post it for you in hopes of figuring it out.

BTW, how did you check your transmission fluid? I believe you have a sealed transmission that must be bottom filled and doesn't have a dipstick.

Thanks. Since the location of the leak is in an unusual place and no weird smells or noises coming from car, I will assume it is safe to drive.

I didn't check tranny fluid level, I just included it with the other fluid checks.
