Using spacers for my A6 2.7T

I just cracked my rims so I am being forced to buy new 17" rims for my 2000 A6 2.7T. I found a great deal on a pair of OEM A6 rims but the guy is saying that the offset (45mm) does not match my 2.7T model and I need rims with a 35mm offset. Is this true? If so, will spacers fix the difference? I am obviously a novice at this so any help would be appreciated...

RE: Using spacers for my A6 2.7T

Not true or not necessarily true, many 2.7T came with rims that had a 43 or 45 offset, mine included and my buddy's too.
The 17's OEM BBS RC I am selling are ET43.Theyfit of course as they are OEMbut would look better with spacers. UNless your brakes are different on the 2000 and bigger than mine... Also depends on the rim itself.
Which rim is it? can you post the rim mode and pic? Someone will know or have/had them.

The rim specs are 17x7.5, 5x112 bolt pattern with an offset of ET45. Pic is below. Thanks for your help.

RE: Using spacers for my A6 2.7T

I have a 2000 2.7 and I went with some 18x8.5 with a 35mm offset. I had to get some 5mm spacers to clear the front calipers.
