Hello folks~

I went to Indy mechanic for changing a valve gasket. And the mechanic said I need to change the cover gasket as well

as valve gasket.

I have no idea what the differencesare between gasket & cover. Of course they charge laborof two jobs.

Somebody has an idea? Thanks.

 

I don't know what this mechanic is trying to do to you but there is ONLY a valve cover gasket and cam adjuster seals under the valve cover.

The valve cover comes with the center part that goes around the spark plug holes.

O ring is also one of the valve cover gasket?

There is only the valve cover gasket, and half moon cam seal which requires a special tool to get at. If he's talking about the cam seal then he is correct.
