Default Voice recongnition on A6

I am wondering if people had some experience with Voice recongnition not working that well most of the time. It seems like it's not even listening and does its own thing and shows help commands all the time. Is there a trick or something that can be done to fix or improve the voice recognition. Please let me know, Thanks a lot

Which part of the voice recognition are you talking about? Like when your talking to someone on the phone through the speaker system?

Bluetooth works fine but if you use voice recognition with bluetooth then just forget it.

The voice recognition is typically pretty good. Which MMI software version are you running? There have been several upgrades and owners seem to experience different improvements from the upgrades. I did not notice any voice recognition improvements, but I did notice significant bluetooth connectivity and telephone improvements. To give you an idea regarding the number of MMI software upgrades, when I purchased my car back in 05 it had MMI version 10.5 and it now has MMI version 33.6. Audi also claims that some of the computer bugs on the 05 and the 06 affecting the radio and the telephone are fixed withnavigation software upgrades. You may want to check the Navigation software. Mine came with version 5 and now has version 8.I am guessingthat either the prior owner of your car, or the dealer, failed to upgradeeither the navigation of MMI software.

I had another thought. Did you create newvoice tags in the memory or is the car trying to match your voice to the voice tags created by the prior owner?

Yep the dealer, the only thing they have to do is interrogate the module with the scanner and it will say what software level its at. They will flash it for you.

I'm happy you guys figured that one out.

My Audi recognizes my voice. It gets really excited and begins to leave little puddles ofoil and antifreeze on the ground. It is wonderful to be loved by an Audi! [sm=smiley27.gif][sm=smiley27.gif]
