Yea I was reading about someone with the same problem. What exactly does the coil pack do? Any ideas how much?

Any ideas how much? the coil packs receive a signal from the ECU telling the coil pack when to discharge spark to the plug. works just like the old cap and rotor distributors, but all computer controlled now instead of running off a gear on the front of the crankshaft, and instead of 1 coil controlling all the spark plugs, now each plug has their own dedicated coil. it's a cheap fix, just replace it and it should take care of your misfire. nice thing about computer controlled is that now spark can be advanced and retarded without having to get out and manually change anything. |

Thanks for that Mustang . I actually went over the whole engine the other day to see if there was anything loose such as pipes. I actually always heard a hissing sound above the right side of the engine. (under top right cover; 2.7t) I found a hole and taped it up. I still have to get some appropriate tape such as electrical but the CEL seems to have gone away after today. I will be getting to scanned again tomorrow and let you know what I get.

CEL went away. Got it rescanned and same codes are there though. So I guess Ill start by getting the misfire fixed.

Cleaned and switched the coilpacks. The code went away :)
