wet 2001 A6 2.7t
My wonderful new wife drove my A6 through a deep puddle at the beach a day before we were married. The lights on the inside and windows started acting very strange I tried to dry out and replaced the window fuse. (it had blown). We didn't drive my car to the Florida Keys, thank God, because when my father-in-law got it back to charlottte the transmission started to clunk and not come out of gear. I got a $5600 estimate for a rebuilt tranny plus labor. My question is, could the transmission acting up have anything to do with the wetness? The passenger door let the water in at the bottom and I'm thinking if something was wet it could affect the way the transmission is readi8ng oer something. The car only has 63k on it. I'm suprised that the transmission would go so early in the car's life. Does anyone have any insight or suggestions?!? Thanks in advance. Of course this was a certified Audi and the warranty went out 2 weeks prior to the incident.

There should be electronics under the passenger side footwell that got wet and muxed things up. I'm looking for the thread that we've already talked about it...

The only problem is if you drove too much while it was acting up because it could have torn stuff up on the inside :-/
